Summary[edit | edit source]
If we judge a man by the friends he keeps, then Cabot has some explaining to do. As the wrangler of this motley crew, Cabot helps teammates by using his Dust Tagging to track the Monster and his Rail Gun to put it down. But there's nothing more helpful than his trusty Damage Amp, which makes his squad pack an even bigger punch.
Weapon Loadout[edit | edit source]
Cabot is a character which focuses entirely on supporting the various Hunters who make up his team. His loadout reflects this, supporting both direct assault and heavy-firepower oriented backup:
- Rail Cannon Damage: High - Rifle that can shoot through walls, shots through walls have decreased damage.
- Damage Amplifier Damage: None - Adds a 2x damage multiplier onto hit creatures.
- Dust Tagging Damage: None - Covers a marked spot with radioactive dust, making hit wildlife and monsters visible for the team.
- Shield Burst Damage: None - Applies a shield to all Hunters within an area around the Support that will decay after a short time.
Strategic Role Summary[edit | edit source]
Like all supports, Cabot's job is to help his team do their job better. But while Hank does this through direct defense and Bucket brings additional firepower to the field, Cabot's abilities are are much more utility oriented. His Dust Tagging is very effective at allowing the team to keep track of an otherwise sneaky monster, allowing you to see it no matter where it goes, as well as revealing any possibly threatening wildlife in the area. This works very well with his weapon, the Rail Cannon, whose pin-point accuracy and ability to penetrate walls allows him to chip away at the monster no matter where they are. His most appreciated tool in a teamfight, however, is his damage amplifier beam, which will cause the targeted opponent to take double damage from all sources. This effect stacks additively with other damage amplification sources, meaning that in coordination with certain other hunters, the team can deal devastating damage to the monster.
