The Elder Kraken is one of the strongest monsters in the game. What he lacks in ranged attacks, he more than makes up for this with his brutal close range attacks, then lights up the sky with his beautifully effective abilities.
Abilities[]
The Elder Kraken has four main abilities, which can be upgraded over the course of play.
- Lightning Strike - A devastating ranged blast that never needs to strike twice.
- Banshee Missile - A ranged attack that launches small projectiles at hunters and wildlife.
- Chain Lightning - A close range attack that chains to nearby enemy's with deadly electricity.
- Death Spiral - Creates a red spiral of death that tears through hunters with a wave of destruction.
Strategic play style summary[]
The best approach is to get up high with his flight ability before firing death spirals and banshee missiles below, obliterating the hunter team. This is referred to as death from above due to how it is preformed. However if you are in a tight area where flight isn't possible, try to use chain lightning to scare away the hunters for a second and then death spiral your escape route, giving you a chance to escape. Then fire a banshee missile at the hunters as you reach the outside, then use the previously mentioned death from above strategy.
Helpful gameplay tips[]
Try to wait until you are at stage 3 before engaging the hunters, and investing your points in death spiral as this is his best ability. if you cant shake the hunters following you, remember that your close range attacks are great, so try to use them if it is possible. One final point to make is that compared to the kraken, the elder kraken doesn't have the same flight time, meaning ambushing your enemies from the sky will be harder, so only use it when hunters are very close when you are doing the death from above strategy.
